This morning on Democracy Now, I heard a report about the current political situation in Egypt.  Once again, the people of Egypt are not accepting the pronouncements of “the powers that be.”  Once again, the people of Egypt are showing the world what it means to “stand in your own power.” Once again, the people of Egypt are demonstrating the courage of their convictions.

You’re reading about unrest, violence, upheaval?  Well, no one said that change is not messy.  Yes, the people are restless and impatient with the lies with which they’re being assaulted.  When one is being physically attacked, as the peaceful demonstrators are, violence ensues.  And still they show up.  And still they stand their ground.

    1. Yes, which is why I urge dialogue and activism between visits to the ballot box, Helen. Call, e-mail, write your elected representatives and let them know what you think. Don’t let them run on made-up platforms. Don’t let them plead ignorance. We are so very fortunate in this country, to have the means and opportunity to exert a little effort daily. Change does not come quickly or easily…it does come! Okay, off my soap box now! xoxoM
