I went to the ballet with Florence last weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed American Ballet Theatre’s performance of Cinderella. Florence is a gifted artist and as I watched her draw picture after picture in her pocket sketchbook, I was inspired to explore my cell phone’s camera capabilities.
The ceiling and chandeliers in the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center are breathtakingly beautiful. I’ve thought that every time I’ve walked in there over the past thirty-plus years. So, at intermission, while Florence drew, I played with my camera.
This is how the picture came out with a simple point the phone up at the ceiling and snap:
These are the images I snapped playing with the phone camera settings:
And these I further “refined” with Picmonkey:
Who knew intermission could be so much fun?
I like The Met 1034, the brown one. Great idea and photos! xo mag
Thanks, Maggie. I’m rather fond of The Met 1011 because it most closely approximates what I actually saw. It was fun to play! xoxoM
Ten years ago, who knew we would all be taking photos with our phones? And some of them coming out so beautifully! Well, at least yours. Not mine. 😀
When mobile phones first came out, I never thought I’d own one, much less enjoy it so much! lol xoxoM
Cool. I like the top left one of the last group…but wait the blue ones in the group before…
You are having way to much fun
Yes, I’m having wayyyy too much fun! xoxoM
Feeding your creativity does wonders for the soul, doesn’t it? Really enjoy the pix!
Yes, it does, JM. For me, it’s actually nourishing the Soul! xoxoM
Love the purple one! The original – it’s hard to see the stuff on the lights because it’s so bright. When you adjusted the color, some more of the detail showed. Purple’s my favorite color!
Oh, good, I’m glad you liked it. Yes, it was hard to see the fixtures themselves because of the brightness of the lights. And it was fun playing with the settings! xoM
