After several years of negotiating, discussing, expounding, and just plain yelling over each other, the members of the Continental Congress finally passed a resolution on Independence to, in Jefferson’s words, “… place before mankind the common sense of the subject in terms so plain and firm as to command their assent.”

Today, 241 years later, the ship of State that set sail in those turbulent years, is hitting choppy waters yet again. It behooves us to negotiate, discuss, expound and, if necessary, Twitter over one another, to keep the vessel afloat and on course.
Happy Independence Day!

Thank you. We are in agreement! π xoM
Yes we need to keep the vessel afloat. It is a great vessel and one worthy of our efforts especially when looking at the alternatives.
Exactly! We all need to bail the water and keep rowing! π xoxoM
So cool to see an original document. π
Yes. I was surprised by how moved I was, Lori. π xoM
I love how you use the prompt words to make your statements and support your causes! π
Thanks, Carolyn. I like to think that I’m just reminding all of us to stand in our own power…however we may perceive that to be! π xoxoM
