The Chrysler Building, lesser-known than its West Side counterpart, the Empire State Building, a simultaneously thrilling and mundane sight in New York City. They just don’t build them like they used to.

I have heard about it. Looks impressive.
Yes. Although dwarfed by its neighbors, it still has style! 😉 xoM
I enjoy seeing these pictures you share as I haven’t been East in a long time, pretty much since we moved here from Delaware. I’ve been to NY once and it’s a blur of a memory. I would like to see our cities with more creative architecture. So many major cities are just box stores and boring….no character at all and they insist on tearing down, instead of renovating the existing buildings that do have class.
Thanks, Jackie. A lot of tearing down going on in NYC, too. Thank goodness for the Landmark Preservation Commission! 😉 xoM
I love when i go to the city and spot an old gem nestled in the new. Great capture!
Thanks, Audra. I have a soft spot for them, too! 😉 xoM
Sheer scale of the buildings against the nature looks interesting. Quite a contrast.
Thank you, J! What’s not immediately evident is that the Chrysler Building is actually about five blocks away. By NYC measurements, that’s approximately half-a mile. 😉 xoM
Locally mundane perhaps, but I like the Chrysler building more. No gigantic ape was killed here after all.
Indeed! lol! 😉 xoM
